
RDA Breaks Deadlock, Initiates Awaited Plot Possession in University Town, DG RDA
RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken a significant step toward resolving the long standing issue of plot possession in University Town by initiating the first phase of handing over possession to affectees. In this regard, a special meeting was held which was chared by the Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza. The Director Estate Management (EM), RDA, Aabgeenay Khan, the Convener of the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) for University Town Issues, other RDA officers, owner of this housing schemen and the affectees attended the meeting.
The Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza said that JIT RDA is handing over possession of 10 plots to the affectees. She emphasized that this development marks the beginning of a phased and structured solution to the long pending University Town possession issue.
The DG RDA further assured that RDA is fully committed to resolving the matter in a transparent, fair, and lawful manner. She stated that possession of plots will continue to be handed over to remaining affectees in phases from time to time, ensuring that all genuine allottees who have fulfilled their financial obligations receive their rightful possession.
The affectees present at the meeting expressed their appreciation for the proactive initiative taken by the Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza. They stated that this long awaited step has revived hope among those who had paid all required dues but were deprived of plot possession for an extended period. The affectees acknowledged RDA’s efforts in listening to their grievances and moving towards a practical and sustainable resolution.
They further noted that the commencement of possession handover reflects RDA’s seriousness in addressing public concerns and restoring trust through effective governance and accountability.
RDA reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights of citizens and ensuring timely resolution of housing related issues in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
