China remains a steadfast ally of Pakistan, Tarar

CCCPK DONATION CEREMONY FOR FLOOD DISASTER IN PAKISTAN 2025

Islamabad,: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said that China has always proven to be a reliable and time-tested friend of Pakistan.
Information Minister was addressing a ceremony organized by China Chamber of Commerce regarding Donations for Flood Disaster-2025.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, speaking as Chief Guest, described China as Pakistan’s “second home” and said Pakistan holds an equally special place for China, underscoring the deep and growing strength of their bilateral ties. He praised China’s unwavering support through every difficult moment, calling the relationship unmatched and reaffirming the two nations as true “iron brothers.” Tarar highlighted how cultural exchange and people-to-people contact have strengthened mutual understanding and allowed Chinese culture to flourish in Pakistan. He also noted that Pakistan contributes less than one percent to global carbon emissions yet remains among the top ten most climate-vulnerable countries, stressing that the recent floods are part of a broader climate crisis impacting the nation. The Minister reiterated the need for greater international assistance for Pakistan’s climate challenges and expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese leadership and business community for their continued solidarity and support.

China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan (CCCPK) organized the “Donation Ceremony for Flood Disaster in Pakistan 2025. The event was held to acknowledge the contributions made by Chinese enterprises for flood-relief efforts across Pakistan.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief Guest, Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, along with Guest of Honor, Yang Guangyuan, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan. Representatives from Chinese enterprises, Pakistani institutions, and the media were also present.
In response to the heavy rainfall-induced floods that have affected many regions of Pakistan since June 2025, CCCPK launched a donation initiative in September. A total of 31 Chinese companies and 1 individual donor participated, contributing over PKR 34 million (approximately USD 300,000) for the procurement of essential relief items such as food, drinking water, blankets, mosquito nets, and waterproof tarpaulins, etc.

In his special remarks, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Pakistan, Yang Guangyuan praised the professional excellence of the Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting for representing Pakistan and the ideologies of the government of Pakistan, which is highly admired in the Chinese community. Yang apprised the participants that the response of Pakistan itself as well as China towards these devasting floods has been swift since the first day of this calamity. China donated RMB 100 million worth of relief supplies to Pakistan, followed by USD 2 million in cash assistance. He added that this donation of PKR 34 million today has come entirely from the Chinese companies and Chinese employees working in Pakistan, which is indeed yet another testament to the fact that Chinese and Pakistani people stand hand-in-hand, shoulder-to-shoulder through all challenges. He also congratulated the esteemed audience on the fact that the next year marks 75 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two nations and he looks forward to working more closely with the Government of Pakistan to bring prosperity for its people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman CCCPK, Mr. Wang Huihua highlighted that the 2025 monsoon floods, driven by climate change, caused severe loss of life and displacement across Pakistan, prompting CCCPK to launch a donation initiative in September. He shared that 32 Chinese companies contributed over PKR 34 million for essential relief supplies, including food, drinking water, blankets, mosquito nets and waterproof tarpaulins, especially needed as winter approaches. He emphasized that Pakistan is not just a workplace for Chinese enterprises but a country they deeply care for, stressing that the gesture reflects solidarity, friendship and shared responsibility. Wang reaffirmed the long-standing commitment of Chinese companies to stand with the people of Pakistan in difficult times and expressed gratitude to all member companies, partners and distinguished guests for their support and presence.


In his remarks, Mustafa Hyder Syed, Executive Director of the Pakistan-China Institute.  expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the people of Pakistan to the Chinese community and Chinese companies, particularly for their swift and generous response to the 2025 flood disaster. He highlighted the donation ceremony as a powerful testament to the enduring and iron-clad friendship between Pakistan and China, which consistently transcends government-level ties to encompass deep people-to-people bonds. Mr. Mustafa emphasized that such humanitarian solidarity in times of crisis truly embodies the spirit of the shared community with a shared future between the two nations. He commended all donors for their critical support, which will play a vital role in relief and rehabilitation efforts, helping affected communities rebuild their lives.
Executive Director General Board of Investment, Dr. Erfa Iqbal expressed that China and Pakistan share a relationship rooted in mutual respect, goodwill, and enduring friendship. Today’s event, recognizing the humanitarian support extended by Chinese enterprises to Pakistan’s flood-affected communities, stands as a meaningful expression of this spirit of solidarity. As cooperation deepens through CPEC and other economic partnership initiatives, the bonds between our two countries continue to grow stronger. Together, we look forward to advancing toward new horizons of shared prosperity and lasting friendship.


Honorary certificates were also presented to all contributing companies. Remarks were also made by Mr. Cao Yufei on behalf of individual donors, and Mr. Liu Yonggang of China Three Gorges Group China Three Gorges Group, whose company extended a special donation during the event. The event concluded with group photographs and an acknowledgment of the collective efforts made by Chinese enterprises working in Pakistan. CCCPK reiterated its commitment to continuing its support for Pakistan’s humanitarian and development needs.
