
New York : Pakistan’s Independence Day and Flag Hoisting Ceremony Celebrated at Bowling Greens in New York The Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Aamer Ahmed Atozai, attended an Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony hosted by the Honorable Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, at Bowling Green Park. The event drew a large gathering of Pakistani Americans, senior NYPD officials of Pakistani heritage, community leaders, students, and journalists.
The ceremony featured vibrant cultural performances, including national songs by school children and popular patriotic renditions by Pakistani American singers.
Speakers paid tribute to Pakistan’s founding fathers, emphasizing that the nation’s success depends on upholding their ideals in everyday life.
In his remarks, Consul General Atozai stated, “August 14 marks a proud moment in our history — celebrating freedom, resilience, and the enduring spirit of our people and state. We share a remarkable history of cooperation with the United States, particularly with the State and City of New York, and this partnership continues to grow stronger each day.”
He expressed gratitude to Mayor Eric Adams for organizing the event and acknowledged the consistent support extended by the Mayor’s Office to the Consulate. Concluding his address, the Consul General reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering an even more progressive and collaborative relationship with New York City.
