
Minister Climate Represents Pakistan at COP29 HoD Retreat in Azerbaijan
Shamakhi: Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, represented Pakistan at the Heads of Delegation (HoD) retreat held in Shamakhi, Azerbaijan. The retreat brought together global climate leaders to address key issues.
Dr. Malik emphasized the urgent need for climate justice, equity, and stronger cooperation between the Global North and South. He highlighted Pakistan’s vulnerability to climate change and stressed the importance of scaling up climate finance, adaptation support, and technology transfer for developing countries.
The Minister called for inclusive, transparent, and accessible climate financing mechanisms, urging developed nations to honour their commitments under the Paris Agreement. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to a climate-resilient, sustainable future and its active role in shaping global climate policy.

The retreat served as an important platform to build trust and consensus, reinforcing Pakistan’s resolve to advocate for a fair and effective international climate framework.
