Awami Health Card provides financial support to poor families, Dr Khawaja

Islamabad : The Askari General Insurance Pvt limited-supported “Awami Health Card’ will be available for medical treatments soon

In this regard, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Islamabad by Chairman Rawal Institute of Health Sciences (RIHS) Mr. Khaqan Waheed Khawaja and representative of Askari General Insurance Abdul Waheed (CEO) Askari Insurance.
The Awami Health Card offers coverage for various treatments, potentially including those requiring hospitalization.

Rawal General and Dental Hospital (RG&DH) providing treatment facility to “Awami Health Card” holders. Khaqan Waheed Khawaja according to his vision and manifesto of delivering in fields of Education, Technical Education, Health and Economy serving all segments of society without any discrimination for last 18 Years. Awami Health Card Progarm offers financial protection to the poor families against extra-ordinary health care expenditure for in-door treatment at Rawal General and Dental Hospital to reduce financial burden on them.

Awami Health Card is a milestone towards social welfare reforms; ensuring that the identified under-privileged citizens across the country get access to their entitled medical health care in a swift and dignified manner without any financial obligations.

Awami Health Card (National Health card) is the first universal health coverage project and the first step by any Private hospital towards making Pakistan a welfare state. Under the Awami Health Program under the vision of Khaqan Waheed Khawaja Chairman Rawal Institute of Health Sciences millions of Pakistanis from low-income families will be able to access quality healthcare, swift and discounted inpatient healthcare services

It is pertinent to mention here that Mr. Khaqan Waheed Khawaja under his vision of Health facilities accessible to all has already successfully launched two Health Cards.

The Awami Health Card objective is to improve access of the poor population to good quality medical services, through a micro health insurance scheme.

The card linked to the Nadra database will be issued to each family head, spouse with three Children after the payment of Rs 25,000 premium and will allow them to avail treatment at private hospitals to the tune of Rs, 5 million

Under this facility, each family of up to three children will be able to get treatment of Rs 5 million in a year. Four separate packages have been introduced, under which people can get treatment up to Rs 1.5 million and other facilities.
