Water level in the Rawal Dam reservoir reached 1748.40 feet

Opening of Spillway of Rawal Dam

Islamabad : The public is hereby informed that the water level in the Rawal Dam reservoir has reached 1748.40 feet as of 14:00 hrs on July 19,. To ensure safety, it is necessary to reduce the reservoir level to 1746.00 feet. In this regard, the spillway gates of Rawal Dam will be opened on July 20, at 06:00 AM and will remain open until the water level is lowered to 1746.00 feet. The approximate duration for the spillway opening is 5 hours.

Precautionary Measures: Residents near the dam and downstream areas are advised to stay away from the waterfront and avoid unnecessary travel in the vicinity.
Fishermen and those involved in boating activities are strictly instructed to avoid the water during this period.
Stay in contact with local authorities and follow their instructions in case of an emergency.
Secure livestock and property in areas prone to potential flooding.
