
Convener of Pakistan–Czech Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group Engages with Czech Ambassador to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation
Islamabad : The Convener of the Pakistan–Czech Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG), Makhdoom Syed Sami-ul-Hassan Gillani, MNA, held a meeting with Ladislav Steinhübel, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Pakistan, at the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the current state of bilateral cooperation and to explore prospects for expanding collaboration across various sectors of mutual interest. The Convener reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, industry, trade, and investment, underscoring the important role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in promoting economic diplomacy and enhancing bilateral engagement.
Recalling the visit of the Czech Parliamentary delegation in 2019, led by Daniel Pawlas, Member of the Chamber of Deputies and Chairman of the Czech–Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, the Convener highlighted the significance of sustained parliamentary exchanges in fostering long-term partnerships.
Ambassador Steinhübel appreciated the longstanding friendship between the Czech Republic and Pakistan and acknowledged the valuable contribution of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations. He reaffirmed the Czech Republic’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation with Pakistan and conveyed to visit the National Assembly of Pakistan in September 2025 for a formal engagement with the Pakistan–Czech Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group, following the invitation extended by the Convener of the Group.
Both sides agreed to work closely through parliamentary and diplomatic channels to advance shared objectives and enhance people-to-people exchanges, while promoting multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
