Russian companies to invest in joint ventures in Pakistan, Haroon Akhtar

Pakistani Delegation led by SAPM Haroon Akhtar khan Visits Yekaterinburg to Explore Industrial Cooperation with Russia

Yekaterinburg, Russia : A high-level Pakistani delegation led by the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, is on an official visit to Yekaterinburg, Russia, to participate in the annual INNOPROM Industrial Forum.

Haroon Akhtar Khan visited several industrial exhibitions and observed Russia’s technological advancements and industrial capabilities. The visit highlighted avenues for enhancing industrial cooperation between Pakistani and Russian enterprises, with a focus on potential joint ventures.

Haroon Khan also held meetings with Russian companies interested in mineral exploration in Pakistan, emphasizing Pakistan’s rich natural resources and investor-friendly environment.

A key meeting was held between
Haroon Akhtar Khan and Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov. Both sides discussed ways to revitalize Pakistan Steel Mills, reviewing technical aspects and identifying support mechanisms.

Discussions further explored the strengthening of bilateral trade ties and industrial partnerships. The Pakistani delegation briefed Russian officials on Pakistan’s new Industrial Policy, aimed at facilitating foreign investment and boosting local manufacturing.

Haroon Khan invited Russian companies to invest in joint ventures in Pakistan in areas such as electric buses, locomotives, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural machinery, stressing the mutual benefits of such partnerships.

This visit marks a positive step towards deeper industrial and economic collaboration between Pakistan and Russia.
