Lahore : The Urban Unit team participated as panelists at the “Challenges and Transformations in Contemporary Pakistan” conference, joining the critical discussion on “Ecological Disasters and Climate Management.” The session brought together researchers and field experts to explore innovative solutions for Pakistan’s growing environmental crises.
Abid Shah Hussainy and Dr. Aneeqa Azeem presented key findings from the Lahore Climate Action Plan (LCAP), emphasizing the importance of Climate Change Risk Assessments (CCRA). Their presentation delved into hazard risk analyses for urban heatwaves, flooding, droughts, and air pollution, urgent threats facing Lahore.
The team also highlighted how hyper-local data and evidence-based planning can drive effective climate adaptation and resilience strategies. It was an inspiring opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow experts committed to securing a sustainable, climate-resilient Pakistan.
