YG Entertainment To Debut New Group ‘Babymonster’ In 2023

South Korean K-pop entertainment agency, YG entertainment has announced to debut their new girl group named 'BABYMONSTER' this year.

Seoul, 2 January 2023 (GNP): On December 30, 2022, YG Entertainment announced the news of debuting a new girl group by displaying a poster on their social media titled “YG NEXT MOVEMENT”:

On 1st January 2023, in a trailer posted on YG’s official YouTube channel, the company showed a glimpse of the trainees who are included in the lineup for the new group. The teaser showed the trainees performing choreographies and their label’s seniors WINNER, BLACKPINK, and AKMU stating their remarks about the potential and skills of the group’s members.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa commented regarding the group saying, ” All seven members suit each other well.” Meanwhile, Jennie said, “I think they’re very good overall.”

WINNER Seung Hoon remarked: “There is absolutely no doubt about how great their skills are.” While Yoon from WINNER added: “There aren’t many talents out there as good as them.”

YG’s founder and general director, Yang Hyun Suk, stated about the new group: “We are finally introducing ‘BABY MONSTER’ to this world after four years. You can think of them as a baby who has the YG genes. We hope they become ‘stars that shock the world’. Kindly judge them based on what you hear and see.”

A few years back, some trainees were seen entering YG entertainment’s building. Since then, speculations arose among netizens that the label would soon debut a new girl group.
