Moscow, 22 February (GNP): The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin are anticipated to meet in Moscow in the months ahead.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in April or early May, and preparations have already been started, the journal said.
The Journal’s article was cited by the state-run Russian news agency TASS when it stated that Xi “may soon” visit Russia.
During their formal end-of-year call, Putin propounded an invitation to Xi, although the Chinese Foreign Ministry has not yet made any details official.

Nevertheless, speculation is high that the two leaders will meet to discuss the pressing issues facing their countries.
Since their leaders announced a “no-limits” friendship a year ago, Beijing and Moscow have developed a stronger relationship that is fueled in large by their mutual resentment towards the United States.
Their cooperation has enhanced the geopolitical balance of power in the world and established a potent counterbalance to the US in international affairs.
The strategic cooperation between Beijing and Moscow, two of the most powerful nations in the World, is viewed by many as a significant step towards a more multipolar world.
Pertaining to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, China has asserted objectivity. It has declined to denounce Moscow and parroted Kremlin lines, attributing the war to NATO.
As both communist states have always had tight economic and political relations, Beijing’s impartial stance is not surprising.
Western capitals are alarmed by China’s growing alliance with Russia as the US and its allies reiterate their support for Ukraine and boost military supplies.
