Bern, 2 October 2021 (TDI): On Friday, the US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy R. Sherman met with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis to discuss the US-Swiss bilateral relations. The officials converged on the margins of the first strategic partnership dialogue held in Bern, Switzerland.

Wendy Sherman stated that the United States looks forward to enhancing the strategic, economic & political cooperation with Switzerland. Similarly, the Swiss official Ignazio Cassis expressed his pleasure over welcoming Deputy Sherman to Bern and committed to working with the US on multiple fronts, including promulgating democratic values, respecting the rule of law, protecting human rights, and addressing the climate crisis.

Considering the United States serving as the second-largest export market for Switzerland, the leaders also aimed to strengthen the trade relations between the two countries through enhanced investments in infrastructure and clean technology.
