Dubai, 8 October 2021 (TDI): Expos, also known as “World’s Fairs,” has been present in various forms for more than two centuries. As an opportunity for nations to come up with new technologies and ideas and other cultures. It is becoming more and more common to travel to different parts of the world. But even in the 20th century, several Expos still left a lasting mark on the cities they held.

Dubai Expo 2020

The Dubai Expo is being promoted as the largest event for the Arabs. Organizers believe the Expo will recover the UAE Economy, especially tourism. Dubai continues the Expo tradition of new construction, with the Al Wasl dome. The largest dome in the world. With a large 360-degree speculative center as its centerpiece.

United Nations Contribution

A huge [4.3 sq km] desert has been created, containing more than 200 booths. Along with 192 country panels, there are special panels focusing on the topic of opportunity, mobility, and sustainability. One of these, the Mission Possible pavilion, houses of the United Nations. The United Nations organizes a series of events and activities at the United Nations Hub and a forum near the Opportunity Pavilion, including immersed experiences, workshops, films screenings, promotional campaigns, cultural practices, inclusion, and discussions around topics related to Sustainable Development Goals.

Connecting the Mind to Create the Future

Within six months of the Expo, which runs until the end of March 2022. For United Nations, it is an opportunity to exhibit the work of organizations & explain why it is focused on overcoming global Issues, such as the COVID-19, climate change, & achieving the SDG. Maher Nasser, the United Nations High Commissioner for Expo, told UN news that, with an event organized under the theme “Connecting the mind to create the future”, with a strong focus on the SDGs, the presence of the United Nations contributed to the organization’s ability to communicate with participants and visitors.
