Ukrainian President’s Advisor offered his resignation

Advisor of the Ukrainian President statement that the Russian missile was pre-shot by the country air defense system before it fell on the residential building created a social and political imbroglio for Kyiv.

Kyiv, 18 January 2023 (GNP):  Advisor of the Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy offered his resignation after his statement that a Russian missile hitting an apartment building in Dnipro was pre-hit by the Ukrainian air defense system before it gutted the residential building, killing at least 44 people on the spot.

Oleksly Arestovych, the advisor to President Zelenskyy, said on his YouTube channel that this missile was shot down by the state air defense system before hitting the targeted building.

However, the debris of the hit missile fell on the residential building, killing 44 civilians there.

After this statement, the Russian officials blamed Kyiv for deliberately hitting their residential building and putting the blame for this destruction on Moscow for getting worldwide sympathy for Ukraine.

The Ukrainian advisor Oleksly Arestovych called this a fundamental error and offered his resignation to the president.

However, President Zelenskyy did not comment on this resignation. Oleksly Arestovych provides regular updates about the Ukraine war through his YouTube channel and on other social media platforms.

This political and social imbroglio caught both the Ukrainian government and Ukrainian advisor Oleksly Arestovych.

The Ukrainian military and government officials said that this building was hit by a Russian Kh-22 missile that’s shooting down capacity, which their country does not have.

Some Ukrainian parliamentarians demanded the immediate dismissal of Oleksly Arestovych from the position of president’s advisor.

They accused him that such ruckus behavior would only strengthen Russian propaganda.

Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian government, blamed Ukraine for killing their civilian to get political and social mileage for them. He said that Moscow never targets civilian installations and buildings in war.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials said there is less chance of anybody being alive in this destroyed residential building.

Other Ukrainian cities, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa, were also barraged by the Russian missiles along with Dnipro in their Sunday strikes.
