New York, (GNP): Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has said that Ukraine is keen to deepen its relationships with Central Asian nations.
His remarks followed a meeting with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev in New York, where both diplomats gathered ahead of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
In his statement, Sybiha emphasized Ukraine’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Central Asian countries, particularly in areas of trade, economic collaboration, and diplomatic dialogue.
He noted that the discussions with Kulubaev focused on identifying pathways to develop bilateral relations and strengthen the partnership between Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.
During his visit, Sybiha engaged in separate meetings with his counterparts from Argentina and South Africa, further expanding Ukraine’s diplomatic outreach on the global stage.

The discussions are part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to enhance its influence and cooperation in Central Asia, a region that holds significant geopolitical and economic potential.
The official diplomatic ties between Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan were established in September 1992, marking over three decades of bilateral relations.
