Twitter to charge $1000 per month from businesses for gold badges

Twitter conveyed the news to all of its affiliated businesses in an email.

New York, 7 February 2023 (GNP): Businesses have been instructed by Twitter to pay $1,000 per month in order to keep their gold badges; those that fail to do so will see their checkmarks removed.

The company run by Elon Musk, which is busy monetizing its platform via various means, will also charge an extra $50 per month to add badges to each account affiliated with the brand, according to sources.

A screenshot published by social media expert Matt Navarra also implied that Twitter will impose a hefty $1,000 monthly fee.

“Twitter is reportedly emailing businesses offering gold check mark verification for $1000 PER MONTH! And affiliate account verification for $50 each per month.”

Twitter sent an email to all of its affiliated businesses which read:

“As an early access subscriber, you’ll get a gold checkmark for your organisation and affiliation badges for its associates. If you’d like to subscribe, Verified for Organisations is $1,000 per month, and $50 per additional affiliated handle per month with one month of free affiliations.”

Prior to the launch of its Verification for Organizations programme (formerly known as Blue for Business), which enables organisations to ‘verify and identify themselves on Twitter,’ the company released gold badges.
