Islamabad, 11 December 2019 (GNP): National leaders devote their lives for the prosperity and well being of the countries and have the greatest place in the history of the countries like Muhammad Ali Jinnah for Pakistanis and Heydar Aliyev for the Azeri nation. These were the remarks by H.E Mr. Ali Alizade on the occasion of the tree plantation and seminar on “Education Policy of Heydar Aliyev and Muhammad Ali Jinnah” organized by Embassy of Azerbaijan to Pakistan and National Library of Pakistan here in Islamabad. While speaking on the occasion, Ambassador said that the main pillar of the policies of these great leaders was the development of education and the correct assessment of its importance. While paying great homage to both Heydar Aliyev and Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Ambassador further said that these leaders emphasis on education and reforms of education and this vision is being taken by the leadership of both countries today as well.
Muhammad Aamar Aftab Qureshi, Director General, CARS & ECO at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted Pakistan’s relations with Azerbaijan and other brotherly Central Asian States. He said Pakistan put great importance to the relations with the countries and always consider the relations friendly and strategic with having cooperation in all areas. While speaking on the occasion Ms. Wajiha Akram, Member National Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, highlighted the role of education and its importance for the nation-building. She said Quaid-I-Azam as the leader of the nation always puts emphasis on education and training for the future of the country. Ambassador of Azerbaijan and dignitaries earlier planted a tree in the yard of the National Library of Pakistan aswell.
The seminar was attended by large number of Ambassadors, Diplomats, Media representatives, Students, faculty members.
It is pertinent to note here that Heydar Aliyev Foundation built not only built school in Muzafarabad but also supported various schools and differently-abled persons across Pakistan apart from establishing Azerbaijan Study Center in National Library, Niazami Ghanjavi Corner in National Book Foundation and other philanthropic work in the different communities in Pakistan.
