7 April 2020 (GNP) : The prime minister of Japan held the 26th meeting in the PM office over COVID-19.
In the discussion, the participants discussed the response to the pandemic. The PM during the meeting showed concern on the increasing cases of corona and stated that with the advice of the Advisory Committee, policies would be revised and a state of emergency would be declared. Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Osaka, Hyogo, and Fukuoka would be the cities under emergency for approximately a month.
The prime minister further asked the public to prioritize the efforts of prevention from the disease. The PM discussed the measures for countering the pandemic and stated that there would be a screening capacity to 20,000 per day and reinforcing the structures of public health centers. (GNP)
