Telephone conversation held between the Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Ireland
Kyrgyzstan 08th June 2020 (GNP): A telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov and the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland Simon Coveny.
During the conversation, the Parties exchanged views on the current epidemiological situation, and the measures are taken to ease quarantine restrictions. The importance of collaborative efforts to share experiences in further preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic was also noted.
The parties also discussed the issues of enhancing bilateral relations, taking into account Ireland’s successful experience in the field of “green economy” and renewable energy sources, expanding the legal framework, and strengthening interaction through multilateral cooperation within the UN.
The ministers agreed to hold inter-MFA political consultations at the level of deputy ministers in the format of an online conference in the near future.
