Tokyo, 7 January 2023 (GNP): SONY, a major multimedia and electronics manufacturer has revealed to build its own Meta Verse in partnership with Manchester City, the famous soccer club. The company explained fans will be able to participate in activities at the virtual Etihad Stadium with customized avatars.
In a video released on the company’s YouTube channel titled ‘ Proof Of Concept’, the virtual avatars can be seen running around the stadium and on the ground, dancing and celebrating.
Nami Iwamoto, Sony’s Senior Product Planner stated: “Avatars, 3D images, and other expressions unique to the metaverse, will enable players to communicate in a unique way.”

The app will be released somewhere in mid-2023 as revealed by a company insider. However, the countries and regions it will be released are still being considered.
