Secretary-General of Estonian MFA to visit Ukraine

Tallinn, 5 October 2021 (GNP/TDI): Jonaton Vseviov, the Secretary-General (SG) of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is going to visit Ukraine.

It will be his second working visit to Ukraine. He visited Ukraine in May 2021. This time he will be also accompanied by the SGs of other ministries which increases the importance of this upcoming visit.
The visit aims to strengthen the bilateral relations by cement the cooperation in different departments. Economic, political, security all types of bilateral relations will be discussed between both states. During the visit, there will be also a discussion on the security situation of Ukraine.

Estonia recognized Ukraine on August 26, 1991, and formally established diplomatic relations with it in January 1992. Estonia was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Ukraine. The highest level of exchange visits began with the visit of Ukraine’s President in May 1992 after the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The diplomatic relations between the states are strong as Estonia has always spoken in the support of Ukraine. Ukraine expresses gratitude for Estonian nonstop valuable support for Ukraine and stresses to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy and security.
