Moscow, 20 March 2023 (GNP): In response to an invitation, President of China, Xi Jinping, met with his Russian Counterpart, Vladimir Putin, at the Kremlin on the afternoon of March 20 local time.
The Kremlin Commander met President Xi at the alighting point and welcomed him to the Kremlin. President Xi and President Putin exchanged cordial handshakes and posed for pictures. The two Presidents held a detailed and open discussion about China-Russia ties and other topics of common interest.
President Xi stated that he was honoured to accept President Putin’s offer to make a second state visit to Russia. He travelled to Russia for the first time since being elected president 10 years ago. The impressions of the trip are still vivid today. He and President Putin have maintained a tight relationship over the last 10 years.
President Xi thanked President Putin for congratulating him right away on both his recent reelection as Chinese President and his reelection as General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee by the 20th CPC National Congress.
