Robbie Knievel, son of Evel Knievel has passed away

Robert Edward Knievel was an American racing stuntman. His father was also a famous motorcycle stuntman.

Montana, 17 January 2023 (GNP): Evel Knievel’s son and American motorcycle stuntman, Robbie Knievel, has died at the age of 60. He passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023.

His brother, Kelly Knievel, disclosed the cause of Robbie’s death to the media: “He was in hospice for about four days. He had advanced pancreatic cancer. He knew he was sick for probably six months.” 

Robbie Knievel was the son of Evel Knievel, who was an American stunt performer and entertainer. Throughout his career, he attempted more than 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps and achieved huge success throughout his career days. Robbie Knievel followed in his father’s footsteps in motorcycle jumping.

Robbie Knievel began jumping his bicycle at age four and rode motorcycles at age seven. At age eight, he performed his first show with his father at Madison Square Garden. At the age of twelve, he went on a tour with his father, where he performed in the pre-jump shows. Robbie Knievel wanted to lengthen his jumps, but his father disapproved.

Knievel then went solo after his dad’s approval. In 1996, Knievel jumped over ten limousines on the Las Vegas Strip, achieving a 230-foot motorbike leap record solo. He went on to perform at numerous motorcycle stunt shows later in his career, with Knievel’s last jump being held on October 29, 2011, in Coachella, California at the Spotlight 29 Casino. He jumped 150 feet over semi-trailer trucks.

In 2006, Robbie Knievel started a new business called ‘Knievel’s Custom Cycles’ in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. Business ventures were conducted through the company Knievel Motorcycle Manufacturing which sold customized motorcycles and various Knievel clothing items.

Apart from his career, the star had three daughters, Krysten, Karmen, and Maria. He also had two grandchildren, Analise and Kane.
