PTI files petition against caretaker CM

They filed a petition in the Supreme Court against caretaker government in Punjab.

Islamabad, 27 January 2023 (GNP): The Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Asad Umer, tweeted that they had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the caretaker government in Punjab.

He predicted that the caretaker administration would not fulfill the requirements of the people in Punjab, and his role was unjust and unfair. The caretaker Chief Minister should be neutral and independent of ruling his concerned province without any pressure.

Furthermore, former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhary Pervez Elahi also raised an objection to Syed Mohsin Naqvi’s appointment and said that a close relative could not be chosen as caretaker Chief Minister. Elahi said that he was involved in corrupt practices. He disagreed with Commission decisions and could not hope for justice. Chaudhry made a statement they will go to the Supreme Court to file a petition against him.

Syed had a controversial and unsatisfactory personality regarding the job of Punjab Chief Minister.

On the other hand, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, always criticized the Election Commissioner’s role and pointed out that the Commissioner just targeted the PTI leadership and party policies.

The ECP has been involved directly with the ruling coalition government to disqualify Imran and his Party from the next elections. Khan assumes they have multiple problems and fear and know it all; they don’t win elections in Pakistan and want to take power another way. The caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab appointment was based on a one-sided decision of the Commissioner.

A petition has been initiated in the high court against the Governor by the PTI. The Governor did not call the election poll date in Punjab, and he was liable to announce election day. PML(Q) and PTI demanded a polling date in the concerned province and hoped that the court will provide relief and order to the Governor for election.
