Kahramanmaras, 9 February 2023 (GNP):President Erdoan visited the tent city on 8 February, built up here for the quake victims and was given an update on the relief work after travelling from Kahramanmaras to the neighbouring area of Pazarck, one of the earthquake’s epicenters.
President Erdoan observed the ongoing search and rescue operations as well as the relief efforts in the province while touring a tent city built for earthquake victims in Kahramanmaras.

President Erdogan emphasized that the nation is facing a major calamity while noting that the Kahramanmaras-is the epicenter of earthquake causing destruction in 10 provinces.
President Erdogan stated that 8,574 people had died from the earthquake, along with 49,133 being injured. He also stated that 6,444 buildings had collapsed as a result of the earthquake.
President Erdogan noted that the state had mobilized all available resources and stated that essential work was being done in cooperation with local governments under the direction of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
