Pregnant Rihanna lights up stage during Super Bowl

The pop icon Rihanna took the world by surprise when she announced her second pregnancy while performing at the halftime show of the US Super Bowl.

Arizona, 13 February 2023 (GNP): Rihanna made a dramatic comeback to the stage during the Super Bowl on Sunday, floating above the field and performing a lively medley of her pop and R&B hits. The star also made a stunning announcement that she is expecting her second child.

Rihanna returned to the stage in style, with a breathtaking performance that started high above the Super Bowl field. Clad in a vibrant hot pink jumpsuit and oversized coat, the pop and R&B sensation sang “Bitch Better Have My Money,” flaunting her noticeably round belly while standing on a suspended platform.

As she sang her way through some of her biggest hits, including “Only Girl (In the World),” “Rude Boy,” and “Work,” she was gradually lowered to the ground, leaving the audience in awe.

During her 13-minute performance, Rihanna was surrounded by a group of dancers dressed in baggy white outfits. This marked the return of the 34-year-old Grammy award-winning singer to the stage after five years of absence.

Her last album, “Anti,” was released in 2016. A singer’s representative confirmed the speculation of Rihanna being pregnant after the performance. This was the result of her appearance, leading social media users to make the assumption.

Rihanna welcomed her first child, a son, with rapper A$AP Rocky in May 2022. Rocky could be seen in the crowd during her performance, supporting his girlfriend. As the Super Bowl show ended, Rihanna concluded her set with the hit song “Diamonds” while fireworks lit up the night sky above the stadium.

With her recent performance, Rihanna joins the ranks of other musical greats who have graced the Super Bowl stage, such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Prince, Madonna, and the Rolling Stones. The annual event is one of the most-watched telecasts in the United States, attracting around 100 million viewers.

These performances were a part of the pre-game events leading up to the main attraction, the Super Bowl, which saw the biggest names in music take the stage and captivate the audience. Chris Stapleton, the well-known country singer, sang the U.S. national anthem, while Troy Kotsur, an Oscar-winning actor, performed the song in American Sign Language.

Furthermore, Sheryl Lee Ralph, an Emmy-winning star, sang “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” also known as the Black national anthem, with a choir accompanying her.
