Lahore, 25 January 2023 (GNP): Islamabad police claimed that PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry had been detained in Lahore as a result of the First Information Report (FIR) that had been filed at the Kohsar police station in response to a complaint by Umar Hameed, the secretary of the Pakistani Election Commission.
The complaint refers to the Pakistan Penal Code’s sections 153-A (promoting hatred between groups), 506 (criminal intimidation), 505 (statement encouraging public mischief), and 124-A (sedition).
It said that Fawad threatened the ECP during a speech he gave outside PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s home and declared that everyone who joined the caretaker administration in Punjab will be pursued till they are punished.

The Islamabad police claimed in a tweet that Fawad attempted to stir up violence against a constitutional institution and fuel the attitudes of the populace. They claimed that the case’s legal procedures would be followed.
