Islamabad, 27 February 2023 (GNP): Islamabad police arrested Lt Gen (retd) Amjad Shoaib on Monday morning, suspecting him of inciting public dissent against national institutions.
Magistrate Awais Khan was the complainant who filed the FIR with number 150. As per information provided by the police sources, the sections under which the FIR was filed are 153A and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Per the FIR, Shuaib allegedly encouraged people to rebel against institutions during his TV interview. He was taken into police custody and is now being held in the lockup at the police station. Today, the police will present him before a local court to request his remand.
On September 7th, the ex-military officer was called to attend an interview with the Cybercrimes Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) regarding his statements about a meeting between the Pakistani prime minister and an Israeli team. However, he failed to appear as requested. Amjad Shuaib claims that the Prime Minister met with an Israeli delegation during his visit to a Gulf country.
