PM Shehbaz visits earthquake-stricken Turkish people

The prime minister was welcomed at the airport by Dr. Yousaf Junaid, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkiye, and top Turkiye government officials.

Ankara, 16 Feburary 2023 (GNP):Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif traveled to Turkiye on Thursday to show his support for the earthquake-stricken Turkish people.

The Prime Minister was welcomed at the airport by Dr. Yousaf Junaid, the ambassador of Pakistan to Turkiye, and top Turkiye government officials.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Lt. Gen. Inam Haider, Head of the National Disaster Management Authority, Federal Minister for Media and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi.

During an official visit to Turkiye, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif shows his support for the quake victims. On February 16, 2023, when the prime minister arrived in Ankara, senior members of the Turkish government and Pakistan’s ambassador to Turkey received him.

We consider their loss to be our loss in keeping with the spirit of one nation residing in two states.There are close links between Pakistan and Turkey. The two nations have steadfastly supported one another through all difficulties,said he.

The Prime Minister will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his two-day visit to personally express the country of Pakistan’s sincere condolences for the loss of life and the extensive damage.

PM Shehbaz will reaffirm Pakistan’s steadfast promise to support the Turkish people in their hour of need and to continue providing all feasible assistance to the ongoing relief operation.

Shehbaz Sharif will also travel to southern Turkiye, where he will meet with earthquake sufferers as well as the Pakistani emergency personnel stationed there.

President Erdogan was informed earlier on February 6 by the prime minister that full help for the rescue and relief effort would be provided.
