Apart from being the largest sponsor of the UN in terms of finance, the US is also hosting the UN Headquarters in New York. The US is also the five members states in the UN Security Council as the permanent member.

There were also reports that the US has been thinking to terminate its UN Membership. it was during President Trump’s administration that the US withdrew from the United Nations Human Rights Council, UNESCO, and later from WHO despite the spike of the COVID-19 pandemic. These drastic measures were rescinded by the incumbent President Joe Biden.
