Pervez Musharraf’s death cause revealed

According to reports, a special jet was chartered to Dubai to return Musharraf's body to Pakistan for burial.

Dubai, 7 February 2023 (GNP): Pervez Musharraf, a former president and retired general, died on 5 February 2023, aged 79, in Dubai after a protracted fight with a rare disease known as amyloidosis.

“I can confirm that he passed away this morning,”– Shazia Siraj, a spokesperson for Pakistan’s consulate in Dubai and embassy in Abu Dhabi, spoke to media outlets confirming the news. According to reports, a special jet was chartered to Dubai to return Musharraf’s body to Pakistan for burial.

Hassan Afzal Khan, Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai, said:

“We are in touch with the family and the consulate will facilitate in whatever way it can, the consulate has issued the no objection certificate.”

Meanwhile, PM Shahbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto, and other renowned politicians have expressed their condolences via social media.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari updated his Twitter profile image to include a picture of Benazir and the late Nawab Akbar Bugti, whose death Musharraf was accused of carrying out as part of a terror plot.

After learning of the former president’s passing, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani sent his sympathies to the bereaved family and expressed his condolences on Twitter as well.
