Pakistan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs to attend Meeting on Afghanistan in Doha

UN is convening the meeting of international leaders to reinvigorate global engagement around key issues in Afghanistan

Doha, 01 May 2023 (GNP): The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Hina Rabbani Khar, is attending the Meeting of Special Envoys on Afghanistan in Doha, Qatar. The two-day meeting, being held under the auspices of the United Nations and chaired by the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Antonio Guterres, aims to bring together major international and regional countries to discuss the ongoing situation in Afghanistan.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs is expected to present Pakistan’s perspective on the situation in Afghanistan and work towards building a consensus with international and regional partners. Pakistan has always been committed to supporting efforts that advance the shared objectives of a peaceful, stable, sovereign, prosperous, and connected Afghanistan.

State minister Hina Rabbani Khar will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders of other participating countries. These meetings will provide an opportunity for Pakistan to discuss its position on the ongoing situation in Afghanistan and explore possible areas of collaboration.
