Pakistani Rupee Devalues Against Dollar

Pakistani rupee has depreciated by 225 against US dollar in the interbank.

Islamabad, 29 December 2022 (GNP): According to sources, Rupee has fallen in value in comparison with the American dollar by 225 at the inter-bank market after two and a half months. There have been reports of people putting their savings by purchasing gold amidst inflation and economic instability.

The federal government of Pakistan has tried every way to maintain a stable exchange rate of PKR against the Dollar; however, despite its many tries and changes in planning and strategies, it has failed to do so. The rupee has continued to fall in value. The government has struggled with high import payments, depleting foreign exchange reserves and political instability; hence the overall value of the Pakistani rupee depreciated by Rs 225.
