9 April 2020 (GNP) : The government of Pakistan has decided to contribute US $3 million towards SAARC COVID-19 Emergency Fund to support the fight against corona in the region.
According to the SAARC Secretariat, that all the funds to SAARC would be administered by the SAARC Sactratit and the utilization of these funds would be decided through consultation of the member states of SAARC.
In a telephonic conversation, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and Secretary-General SAARC Esala Ruwan Weerakoon have also discussed Pakistan’s point of view regarding it.
Pakistan shows commitment to SAARC and being a founding member would continue working with all the member states. (GNP)
