Salalah, 30 May, 2023 GNP: Pakistan Junior hockey team achieved a commendable victory over Japan and made it to the semi-final. Pakistan has defeated Japan in a thrilling tournament happening in Salalah, Oman.
According to media reports, this year’s junior world cup marks a momentous victory for Pakistan against Japan. Abdul Wahab’s stunning performance with two goals led the team to a 3-2 triumph in a fiercely contested Pool A match.

However, this tremendous victory was not an easy one for Pakistan. The team had to secure a win against either India or Japan. Moreover, the team’s resilience was incredible as they hold India to a draw and defeated Japan securing a place in the semi-final.
Pakistan’s Abdul Wahab scored two goals, propelling Pakistan to a 2-1 lead. Although, Japan launched a series of attacks in the last quarter of a thrilling match. Japan’s Kumpei Yasuda found a breakthrough in the second minute and scored a goal in penalty corner. However, Ahmad Arbaz equalized the match with a goal off a penalty corner in the 23rd minute.
Now, to secure a place in finals, Green shirts must secure a victory against either Malaysia or South Korea on May 31.
