Islamabad, 25 January 2023 (GNP): Pakistan Federation of Baseball (PFB) announced on Tuesday in Islamabad that the Indian team has received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to compete in the 15th West Asia Baseball Cup.
The West Asia Baseball Cup event is slated to occur in Islamabad from January 26 to February 1.

The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination has sent NOC letters. The NOC’s letters were delivered to Harish Kumar, Secretary of the India Baseball Federation. Fakhar Ali Shah, the PFB president, said.
The Indian team’s passports have already been collected. Today, the letter will be delivered. I hope the Indian team receives their visas soon and visits Pakistan, he added.

Tomorrow, foreign teams will begin to arrive in Pakistan.
The Palestine baseball team had already received permission from Pakistan to take part in the competition of the Baseball Cup in Islamabad. According to Fakhar, the 21-person Palestinian squad has received visas.
Hosting country Pakistan, Palestine, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan compete in the six-team West Asia Cup tournament.
The home team is well underway with their pre-event preparations. The Pakistan Federation of Baseball used its Twitter account to express its excitement regarding the competition.The federation tweeted, Team Pakistan is getting ready for the next West Asia Cup in Islamabad.

It is important to note that the Baseball event of the XIV South Asian Games was originally scheduled to take place in March 2023, but the event was later postponed to March 2024 by the South Asia Olympic Council. The Baseball Softball Federation of India (BSFI) wrote a letter to the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) to confirm their participation in the baseball event (SAOC).
