Karachi, 27 May, 2023 (GNP): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize distribution for the recently concluded ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle. Pakistan has secured a commendable seventh place, earning them a reward of $100,000 in the championship.
The prestigious ICC World Test Championship Final took place between Australia and India at The Oval in London on June 7th. The victorious team, Australia, claimed not only the coveted WTC mace but also a staggering prize of $1.6 million. While, the runners-up, India, received a substantial amount of $800,000.
The total prize purse for the World Test Championship remained consistent with the inaugural edition, amounting to $3.8 million. The ICC ensured that all nine participating teams would receive a share of this purse based on their rankings and performances throughout the tournament.
