Islamabad, 9 June, 2023 (GNP): The Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Asad Majeed Khan chaired a meeting with ASEAN Heads of Missions in the capital city on Thursday.
The meeting was as part of Pakistan’s continued engagement with ASEAN. The Foreign Secretary acknowledge Pakistan’s dedication to strengthen the partnership between Pakistan and ASEAN in all spheres, in line with its East Asia vision.

Khan highlighted Pakistan’s policy of forethoughtful engagement with the ASEAN member states both bilaterally and multilaterally show Pakistan’s commitment to the ASEAN and its proceedings.
He outlined steps taken by Pakistan to deepen the process of engagement with ASEAN and recapitulate the significance of making the best use of institutional tools available on bilateral and ASEAN-wide level.

The Foreign Secretary also concise the Head of Missions on the projects presented and executed by Pakistan with ASEAN during the period of 2021-2023, in line with the ASEAN-Pakistan Practical Areas of Cooperation agreed between the two sides.
These include the already accomplished Diplomatic courses for ASEAN diplomats and Training program in Banking and Finance for the central bank officials of the ASEAN member states and the training program on Cyber Security and a Pakistan-ASEAN Business Opportunities Conference planned in the next half of this year.
