New Hajj policy of Ministry of Religious Affairs

Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs unveiled the new Hajj Policy. Applications can be submitted from March 16 to 31 March, 2023.

Islamabad, 11 March 2023 (GNP): According to Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony (MORA), Hajj applications can be submitted from March 16 through March 31, 2023.

In a news conference where he unveiled the Hajj Policy 2023, he said that applications may be made at 14 specific banks around the nation.

The age restriction for performing the Hajj has been removed as of this year, according to the Religious Minister. However, applicants to the regular Hajj scheme will not be accepted if they have performed the Hajj within the previous five years.

He added that the Sponsorship Hajj Program was given a 50% quota in both the public and private hajj program, or 44,802 seats in each program. Costs are still lower than in nearby countries.

According to the Minister for Religious Affairs, some Hajj expenses were decreased by Saudi Arabia at the request of the Pakistani government, and he added that these expenses are lower than those of India, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

The Minister praised the administration for resolving problems with Hajj money exchange. On the country’s inflation, Abdul Shakoor claimed that due to tax increases, the cost of necessities such as food and clothing had also gone up in Saudi Arabia.
