North Central Nepal, 17 April 2023 (GNP): Mountaineer Naila Kiani on Monday became the first female climber from Pakistan to reach the top of Nepal’s Annapurna Peak, which stands 8,091 meters high and is the tenth-highest peak in the world.
Shehroze Kashif, a climber who holds the distinction of becoming the youngest Pakistani mountaineer to ascend the summit, and Nepalese sherpas were with her.
Between 6:30 and 7:30 on the morning of April 17, climbers and the Seven Summit Treks (SST) team successfully ascended the peak. Along with the SST crew, they had begun the peak’s summit push on Sunday evening.
SST Director Chhang Dawa Sherpa posted on social media today that a group of sherpas and climbers had successfully ascended Annapurna Peak this morning. He added that three sherpas and three climbers were on the summit between 6:30 am and 7:30 am.

In addition, he also mentioned the other six climbers: Lakpa Nurbu Sherpa, Tashi Sherpa, and Lakpa Sherpa from Nepal; Naila Kiani and Shehroze Kashif from Pakistan; Arjun Vajpai from India.

According to Alpine Club of Pakistan Secretary General Karar Haidri, Naila Kiani is the first Pakistani woman climber to reach the summit of four peaks higher than 8,000 meters.
Kiani is a Pakistani banker living in Dubai who is also an amateur boxer and a mother of two daughters. She originally rose to fame after pictures from her wedding photoshoot at K2 Basecamp went viral on social media in 2018.
She also conquered Gasherbrum-I (8,068m) in July 2022 and Gasherbrum-II (8,035m) in 2021.
In addition, Kiani had also climbed the world’s second tallest peak K2, soon after Samina Baig, who was the first female Pakistani climber to achieve the feat.
