Islamabad : Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, in his message on the occasion of the 47th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, paid tribute to his political and democratic struggle and said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a visionary leader in Pakistan’s political history, whose political insight and public service will always be remembered.
He stated that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto awakened democratic consciousness in the country and made the people aware of their fundamental rights.He further said that Shaheed Bhutto played a povotal role to pass unanimous Constitution of 1973, which remains the foundation of the country’s democratic system to this day.
The Speaker further said that under his leadership, Pakistan achieved significant successes at diplomatic, defense, and public levels, and secured a dignified position in the international community. He added that Shaheed Bhutto’s political struggle for public rights, national sovereignty, and dignity remains an exemplary legacy.
He said that the democratic struggle of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the sacrifices he made for strengthening democracy are a guiding light for future generations. The Speaker emphasized that on this day, we must renew our pledge, in light of his vision and services for democracy, to continue striving for democracy, constitutional supremacy, and the rule of law, as strong democratic institutions are the guarantee of a bright future for Pakistan.
