Lahore Resolution laid the foundation for the creation of an independent Islamic state, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq*
Islamabad : On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that 23rd March holds historic significance for the Muslims of the subcontinent. He said that on this day in 1940, the Lahore Resolution was passed, laying the foundation for the creation of an independent Islamic state. He added that 23rd March not only symbolizes the birth of Pakistan but also represents the courage, vision, and determination of the Muslim leadership of that era. He said that Pakistan Day reminds the nation of the vision, struggle, and sacrifices of the founding fathers, whose efforts established Pakistan as a free and sovereign country.
“The Lahore Resolution was not only a milestone towards freedom for Muslims of the subcontinent but also paved the way for the creation of a sovereign state. The sacrifices and dedication of our national heroes will always be remembered in Pakistan’s history,” the Speaker said. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted that Pakistan Day provides an opportunity to renew the nation’s commitment to the founding principles of unity, faith, and discipline, and to collectively strive for progress, prosperity, and democratic stability.
Paying tribute to the martyrs, the Speaker said, “The nation stands firmly shoulder to shoulder with our Armed Forces and security institutions in their relentless fight to eradicate terrorism and extremism from Pakistan.” Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the oppressed people of Palestine and Kashmir, affirming, “Pakistan will always raise its voice for the rights of our Palestinian and Kashmiri brothers and sisters.”
The Speaker prayed for the country’s safety, security, progress, unity, prosperity, and enduring stability.
Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, said that Pakistan Day reminds the nation of the sacrifices made by its forefathers to establish an independent homeland. He emphasized that only a united, responsible, and committed nation can achieve lasting progress and prosperity. “We must honor our national heroes by working together for Pakistan’s security, development, and stability, ensuring a safe and prosperous future for coming generations,” he said.
He prayed for Pakistan’s safety, development, and stability, urging the nation to uphold unity and progress.
