Islamabad, 10 November 2022 (GNP): After Pakistan qualified in the Final of the T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup, Indian Ex-Cricketer Irfan Pathan tweeted, directing toward Pakistan (without calling the name).

His tweet is summarized in these words: Neighbours! winning is temporary, but “Grace” is permanent; he meant that his neighbors won the match, but they lack grace. He faced a massive backlash on such comments, not only from the public but also from celebrities.

Momina Mustehsan, Pakistani singer and social activist, responded to the tweet gracefully and said that Pakistan is not a graceless ex; Pakistan is against such exes. She continued and mentioned that Pakistanis are praying for your win and waiting in the final.

But unfortunately, India lost to England and could not qualify for the final. So, Pakistan and England will confront each other in Melbourne Cricket Stadium (MCG).

The fast bowler for Pakistan, Shoaib Akhtar, asked him in a childlike way, “What has occurred, bro? Tell me if someone made fun of you. I’ll reprimand him. Promise.” Akhtar responded to Pathan’s tweet after England eliminated India from the competition on Thursday’s second semi-final.

Imran Nazir, a Pakistan International team batter, retweeted Irfan’s tweet while expressing his disappointment. Irfan clarified and replied that Imran should have seen the crowd of Pakistan on the ground in Sydney, to which Imran said, “Not sure what happened there, not advocating any rude/offensive behaviour but few fans don’t reflect whole nation. Stay blessed Irfan”.

Pakistani Comedian Shafaat Ali said, “Padosiyon jeet ati jati rehti hai, lekin losing by 10 wickets is a wicked habit.” which means, Neighbours, a win is temporary, but losing by ten wickets is a nasty habit. He was pointing toward Pakistan’s success over India last year with ten wickets in the T20 World Cup 2021 and today’s loss to England in the T20 World Cup 2022.

Pakistani media personality Sidra Iqbal replied, “England galloping ahead.. gracefully,” with a winking eye emoji.

Mohammad Jibran Nasir, the Pakistani Politician and Activist retweeted with a comment, “Facing England in the ground, Battling Pakistan in their minds. What a dominance, boys.”

Pathan had endured a hostile online response since he sent the tweet, which worsened when India was disqualified from the competition. M. Jibran again responded by tagging him and saying, “England showing no “Grace” as it butchers the Indian Bowling attack. It’s raining sixes!”

Careem in Pakistan, a ride-booking company from Morocco to Pakistan, also responded with a similar taunt that win and loss are temporary but being in the final is not in your control.
