Islamabad, 17 January 2023 (GNP): Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved as per the United Nations Security Council resolution and aspiration of the people of Kashmir. He shared his views on the abrogation of the special status of Kashmir by the Modi government and said that it is high time to resolve the conflict between Pakistan and India through dialogue and a peaceful environment.
The development came after an interview with AL Arabiya channel where the Prime Minister pointed out Indian occupation and violation of article 370 of its constitution, which granted autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, Shahbaz Sharif said that talks could begin and India had to revert its illegal action of August 5, 2019. He claimed that the Kashmir dispute settlement could not be possible without the revocation of the August 5, 2019, action. The PM highlighted the human rights violations of the people in Kashmir and said it was unfair and unjust according to human manners. Hence, India must stop the bloodshed of minorities and treat them equally.

India and Pakistan are neighbouring countries, and they fought three wars and could not achieve anything except misery, poverty and unemployment in the respective countries. PM Shahbaz said that India had to learn a lesson and join hands for peace and prosperity and resolve the core issues of India and Pakistan.
Prime Minister Sharif wanted to alleviate poverty, achieve prosperity, education, health and employment opportunities in the country and not waste time and resources on bombs and ammunition. It was the message that he wanted to give to Prime Minister Modi, he added.
