Rawalpindi, 27 April 2023 (GNP): The Pakistani cricket team made history on Thursday by joining Australia and India as the third team to reach 500 One Day International (ODI) victories.
Pakistan achieved this feat following their five-wicket victory over New Zealand in the opening ODI, which was played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan has travelled a long and legendary path to reach this milestone. They faced New Zealand in their debut ODI in 1973, and they have come a long way since then. Pakistan has been an important nation in cricket thanks to players like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis, among others.

Moreover, Pakistan achieved this feat of 500 ODI wins in their 949th ODI. The Men in Green have won 92 ODIs against Sri Lanka, 73 against India, 63 against the West Indies, 57 against New Zealand, 54 against Zimbabwe, 34 against Australia, and 32 each against England and Bangladesh.

The Australian squad has won 594 of its 978 ODIs, whereas the Indian team has triumphed in 539 of its 1029 ODIs.
With this victory, Pakistan not only became the third team to win 500 ODIs, but they also took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series against New Zealand.
