Islamabad, 9 May, 2024 (GNP): The Indonesian Charge d’Affaires (CDA), Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma, held a meeting with Hasan Nasir Jami, Secretary of the National Heritage and Culture Division in Islamabad, May 9, 2024.
Both sides discussed the importance to collaborate for wider people-to-people contacts between Indonesia and Pakistan.
In this regard, the Secretary supported ways to enhance it, among others by the establishment of the ‘2nd Indonesian Corner’ at the National Library of Pakistan in Islamabad.
The Secretary appreciated successful inauguration of the ‘1st Indonesian Corner’ at the National Book Foundation in November 2023 and applauded the Embassy for its active efforts to continuously promote bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Secretary also welcomed the initiative to introduce more socio and cultural collaboration as a means to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Indonesia-Pakistan Bilateral Relations in 2025.

Emphasizing on the continuing friendship between Indonesia and Pakistan, Secretary Jami highlight the longstanding tradition of cultural exchange which had been spanning for several decades.
The Indonesian Corners in Pakistan aim to serve as a platform which fosters dialogue and understanding between the peoples of Indonesia and Pakistan.
The Corners also aim to provide a wealth of information about Indonesia through an array of mediums including books, magazines, videos, and immersive activities such as Bahasa Indonesia language classes, cultural showcases, and tourism insights.
A highlight of the Indonesian Corner will be its captivating collection of traditional artifacts representing all 38 provinces of Indonesia.
These artifacts, meticulously curated to reflect the diverse and vibrant cultural tapestry of Indonesia, will serve as tangible symbols of Indonesia’s cultural heritage
