Indonesian ambassador urged Pakistani students to study in Indonesia

Ambassador Tugio praised RCCI for taking the initiative to organise the first-ever educational exhibition and emphasised the crucial function of universities as innovation incubators.

Rawalpindi, 5 March 2023 (GNP): The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia took part in the two-day International Education Summit 2023, which held on March 4-5, 2023, in order to promote the Indonesian educational system and give access to information on scholarships provided by Indonesian colleges.

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organised the event with the goal of inspiring Pakistani students with excellent educational opportunities in Pakistan and abroad and to provide a forum for interaction and consultation with representatives and education experts from across Pakistan.

In order to examine the difficulties and solutions for raising the standard of education in Pakistan, a conference with panellists from the corporate sector, practitioners, and education authorities was also organised.

Ambassador Tugio praised RCCI for taking the initiative to organise the first-ever educational exhibition and emphasised the crucial function of universities as innovation incubators. He urged the business community to take the initiative by bridging the gap between academic lab advances and the markets.

“The expo is also good opportunity for the Embassy since we can introduce some best universities in Indonesia, especially because many of them offer full scholarships to Pakistani students”, the envoy added.

Addressing on the occasion, Mr. Saqib Rafiq, President of RCCI, emphasised to the audience how crucial it is to first strengthen Pakistan’s academic sector in order to have a robust economy.

“Although we have brilliant students, they need to have proper guidance so that they could excel to their full potential”, he added.

Students from the twin cities who were interested in learning more about the educational system and scholarships offered by Indonesian universities, including those from five of the top Indonesian universities according to the QS World Ranking 2023, including Gajah Mada University (UGM), Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), University of Indonesia (UI), Airlangga University (UNAIR), and Bogor Agriculture University (IPB), were drawn to the Embassy’s stall

The Embassy provided free advising services to students, including accurate, thorough, and current information on the chances to study at more than 30 authorised Indonesian universities.

The Embassy’s efforts to give students a place to get advice on applying for the various Scholarships, which will undoubtedly promote inter-personal contact and deepen the cultural and intellectual relations between the two nations, were praised by visitors. The majority of scholarship grantees to study in Indonesia in 2021 were Pakistani students.

More than 30 booths were set up to represent the best universities in Pakistan as well as some of the top colleges, universities, and reputable education consultancies in the world, including NUST, The Millennium Universal College, University of Management Technology, and SI-UK, as students looked for information to enrol in the best universities both domestically and abroad.
