New York, 5 April 2023 (GNP): Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and a former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been featured on the cover of the US TIME magazine while there are rising hostilities with the current government.
His picture appeared on the title page with the title, “The Astonishing Saga of Imran Khan.”

Times highlights how Imran Khan was ousted from office exactly one year prior by a vote of no-confidence in the parliament. Since then, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has pushed for speedy elections while applying pressure to the existing government through recurrent demonstrations around the country that draw thousands of his followers.
Imran Khan led two protracted marches last year to call for early elections, but during one of them, he was shot and killed in November, infuriating his followers even more. Khan has charged his enemies with carrying out an assault saying, “The same people who tried to kill me are still sitting in power,”
While giving his interview to TIME, Imran Khan said “If the army chief didn’t think corruption was that big a deal, then nothing happened.”
He also said, “criticizing U.S. foreign policy does not make you anti-American.
