As they say a traitor is more dangerous than a standing enemy army, for the traitor first pretends to be loyal and then hits the Achilles heels. A traitor knows when to hit and where to strike a blow. Empires have been brought down by the traitors and kings have been poisoned by these very turncoats. Pakistan’s story is no different. Her own people, who opted to dance at the enemy tunes, have started a vicious campaign against Pakistan. From Brahamdagh Bugti to Altaf Hussain, most of the political leaders promoting subversive narratives are in self-exile since years rather decades. Not only this, but they have also been reported to have Indian backing, in fact they have publicly sought the asylum in India and Indian financial support. These sub nationalists, who try to gain public support by pursuing revolutionary and subversive politics, seem to have forwarded the aspirations of Pakistan’s arch rivals. It’s the time to deal such fleas iron handedly and to nib the evil in the bud.
Since last few years, anti-Pakistan politics of MQM founder, Altaf Hussain has been causing a real threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty and prosperity. From ordering sit ins to promoting sectarian violence, from inciting terror to fuelling sub nationalism and from constructing propaganda against the state institutions to challenging their writs, Altaf Hussain has played all his cards to destabilize Pakistan. While being in self-exile for more than two decades, he is sowing the seeds of ethno nationalism, disunity and subversion. He has been involved in ethnic-politics since the start of his political career. Even being the part of Pakistan, he and his party appear to have never accepted the Pakistani identity by heart and kept on calling themselves and their community as Muhajirrs. Moreover, Altaf Hussain has been continuously seen to have been criticizing rather demonizing Punjab and sometimes even referring Pakistan as Punjabistan, thus mocking the actual essence of independence and fuelling the fire of ethno nationalism.
Additionally, he has always sided by the sub nationalists and instead of strengthening Pakistan he appears to have put his efforts to dismember Pakistan. Recently, he appealed before the US Congress to table a bill for the separation of Sindh and Balochistan from Pakistan. He stated, “In the name of humanity I appeal to all the members of US congress to please also table a bill for the independence of Balochistan and Sindh Provinces to save the lives of over 80 million people”. 90% of people of Balochistan and Sindh provinces want to have their own independent Balochistan and Sindhudesh.” The separation of both these provinces of Pakistan will not only cripple Pakistan but will also challenge her sovereignty. These happen to be the ambitions of Pakistan’s enemy only.
From ordering sit ins to promoting sectarian violence, from inciting terror to fuelling sub nationalism and from constructing propaganda against the state institutions to challenging their writs, Altaf Hussain has played all his cards to destabilize Pakistan.
Furthermore, the MQM leader also demanded pentagon to block all the military aid to Pakistan. He censured Pakistan army to lower its morale which may lead to weak defenses. Every now and then he keeps on criticizing state institutions. Anti-state narratives are being promoted rather nurtured by him. His anti-Pakistan political posture points towards the apprehension of him being a foreign puppet.
On the same hand, while demonizing every institution of Pakistan, he appears to support India at multiple fronts. From supporting India’s unilateral revocation of article 370 and 35A -which has been criticized by the entire world- to seeking asylum in India, Altaf Hussain seems to have chosen India over Pakistan. He sought asylum in India and stated, “If India today, and Prime Minister Modi, allow me to come to India and provided me asylum with my colleagues, I am ready to come to India along with my colleagues. If you don’t provide us with shelter, give us some influential financial people to come and go to the international court. I have no money so you ask your people to pay the court fees, I will fight alone at the International Court of Justice for Baloch, Sindhis and Muhajirs and all other ethnic-religious minorities.”
In one of his addresses, he also sang the famous Indian slogan, “Saray Jahan Se Acha Hindustan Hamara.” Even the former party member and Karachi Mayor Mustafa Kamal stated, “Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain is a ‘puppet’ of Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), which has been masterminding killings and violence in Karachi. RAW has been spending money for the last 22 years to destroy Karachi. It has been orchestrating violence in the city.” All these points clearly depict his anti-Pakistan and pro-India approach. He appears to be an Indian pawn trying to save the BJP king from a check mate.
Therefore, British government needs to take strong action against Altaf Hussain for he has been hatching conspiracies against Pakistan while residing in the United Kingdom. Not only this but he is actually involved in Pakistan’s politics while being a foreign citizen. So, by all the canons of international law, Mr. Altaf Hussain is to be held responsible for inciting terror in Pakistan. It’s the responsibility of British government to hold its notorious citizen -A. Hussain- accountable for promoting violence in the foreign state.
