London, 19 December 2022 (GNP): In the recently premiered Netflix documentary of the royal couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, they have revealed that they want to reconcile with the British royal family. However, they demand an apology and a royal summit.
According to an insider: “They want everyone, including Harry’s family, to understand why they did what they did. It’s about shining a light on how the institution works and why it needs to change; that’s where its focus has always been. Hopefully, this message will carry on and ultimately heal the whole family.”
“Just for clarification, this is not meant as an attack on William or the rest of the family.”-added the insider.

The couple announced back in 2020 that they were abdicating from their official role with the royal family, and lines were quickly drawn between the royal family and Harry. In 2020 the duke and duchess went to the royal estate in Norfolk, Sandringham, to discuss possibilities for the couple’s royal role with King Charles, formerly Prince Charles, as well as his brother and the late Queen.
He recalls how the meeting went, stating: “It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that just weren’t true and my grandmother quietly sit there and sort of take it all in.” He said about his relationship with his family: “It looked cold, but it also felt cold.”
Harry talked about the breakdown of his relationship with his brother, accusing William’s office of trading negative stories about one family member to keep the press away from another. This was something he says they ‘promised’ they would never do when they were younger.
Harry and Meghan revealed the reason why they decided to give up their royal duties and shift to US. They claimed they were not supported by the Royal Family during a barrage of negative press that was mainly directed at Meghan.
Meghan also revealed about how she considered taking her own life before stepping back from the Royal Family. “It was like ‘all of this will stop if I’m not here,'” she said. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, said hearing her daughter’s thoughts “broke my heart”.

Prince Harry said he was devastated after his wife revealed to him her struggles, but he had been ‘trained’ to worry more about what people were going to think, and he “hated himself” for that statement. “What she needed was so much more than I was able to give,” he added. Meghan claimed she wanted to seek help but “wasn’t allowed to.”
The prince added: “They knew how bad it was. They thought, ‘Why couldn’t she just deal with it?’ As if to say, well, ‘everybody else has dealt with it, why can’t she deal with it?’ But this was different. It was really different.”
Meghan’s mother can be seen looking teary-eyed in the documentary as she shares her account of that time, adding that her daughter’s words were “not easy for a mum to hear.”
Buckingham Palace announced on 18 February 2021, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family.” The statement came one year and one month after Meghan and Prince Harry initially shared their plans to step down from their roles in the British royal family.
